Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some frequently asked questions we receive about Financial Aid. If you have additional questions regarding the FAFSA, or other financial aid questions, please and log in or contact the on the studentaid.gov website.
Q: Will I hear from someone, and when?
A: After filling out a FAFSA, you’ll receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which is a personalized summary of the information submitted. Review the SAR to make sure there aren’t any mistakes on the FAFSA.
Please note: The SAR will not tell you how much financial aid you will receive.
- If you applied for admission to a college or career school and have been accepted, and you listed that school on your FAFSA, the school will calculate your aid and send you an electronic or paper Award Letter telling you how much aid you’re eligible for at the school.
- The timing of the award letter varies from school to school, depends on when you apply and how the school prefers to schedule awarding of aid.
